Rotary Club of Princes Town Awards $75,000 in Scholarships at Annual Vocational Awards

Sixteen outstanding students were recognised and awarded a total of $75,000 in scholarship grants,

supporting studies across vocational and tertiary disciplines. This initiative forms part of the club’s long-
standing investment in education, which has contributed nearly $1.3 million toward youth empowerment

over the past 33 years.

In keeping with Rotary Vocational Service Month, Acting Director of The Rotary Foundation, Shuntelle
Thomas, highlighted the importance of ethical leadership, resilience, and professional excellence, noting
that the awardees exemplify Rotary’s core values of integrity and service. Tribute was also paid to parents
and guardians for their continued support and sacrifice.

Club President Crystal Ann Harper reflected on the club’s broader legacy of service, including free
medical and social outreach programmes, youth leadership initiatives, and community development
projects. She encouraged recipients to remain resilient, pursue excellence, and give back to their
communities as future leaders.

The club extended special appreciation to the Rotary Foundation Team, particularly Directors Shuntelle
Thomas and Oosha Jagdin, for their leadership in executing a successful programme. The ceremony
reaffirmed the Rotary Club of Princes Town’s dedication to building opportunity, hope, and a brighter
future for young people across Trinidad and Tobago.
